From JR Niigata station’s Bandai exit, walk about 25 minutes to reach this central business and shopping area, located just on the other side of the Shinano River. Here you can find a web of small roads with a wide selection of distinctive shops and eateries, many of them around for ages. Eat traditional foods in an authentic local ambiance, or try out any of the many sushi shops and pubs. Walk through the Furumachi Shopping District or visit the Mitsukoshi department store. Many hotels are also located here.
