Iwamuro Onsen is an emotional hot springs area in Nishikan-ku, Niigata City. The area is affectionately known as "the ghost duck's lodge" because of an old story of a duck who healed his wounds here. It is said the the hot spring water will give one smooth skin and is effective against rheumatism and nerve pain.
Tsukioka Onsen is a popular getway from Niigata that is only 30 minutes from the city by car.
